The hot temperature of
this painting is mitigated by glimpses of snow in the mountains and
the cooler accents lower down, which represent Moroccan artefacts,
gateways and stylised plant forms. In the distance one can just detect
a row of mud-built kasbahs which seem to grow organically out of the
red earth.
