The Road to Marrakesh 76 x 87 cms acrylic on canvas £2000

The dominant red hues of this work recall the colours of the earth on the road from Ouarzazate to Marrakesh, from which turreted dwellings seem to grow organically. This colour is taken up into the distant mountains and the sky, so that the elements appear homogeneously linked. Small fragments of cooler blues and greens refer to glazed tile roofs, cusped arches and shrines.
